Since 1995 the Association for Town Marketing of Wetter ("Stadtmarketing für Wetter e.V.") works for the presentation of the location Wetter and the systematic prestige advertising as well as for improving the attractiveness of the town of Wetter (Ruhr) for citizens of Wetter (Ruhr), citizens of the surrounding area as well as resident and interested companies. The association wants to contribute by ideological, material and / or financial support for appropriate events in cultural, sporting, economic, social and / or environmental fields. However, the guests are given a lot of information about the person of Friedrich Harkort as well as his life and work.

The guided tours start at the meeting point in front of the castle ruins in the historic Freiheit, right next to the municipal office of the Evangelical Reformed Church Wetter-Freiheit, Im Kirchspiel 4, 58300 Wetter (Ruhr). After an one-hour guided tour in the Freiheit, the group will be accompanied by our city guides along Kaiserstraße and Ruhrstraße along the historic path to Demag.

The historical path takes the visitors in 11 stations from the castle ruins Wetter to the present company site of Demag. Each station consists of a display board, which are attached to the lanterns along the way. On each of the boards we will find a large picture and well readable text. The boards 1 and 11 are the start and end points of the path for the founding year 1819 and for the jubilee year 2019 respectively, while the boards 2 to 10 will chronologically cover the intervening periods. Our city guides will be pleased to take a closer look at individual stations of the path and pass on further knowledge about the periods to the participants.
